NYC Uber Hotspots in March

At INSHUR we look for ways to help you make more money – revealing where the crowds are is one of them.

Many Uber drivers will be cruising for riders in all the same old places.

But that’s way too competitive. Instead, we’ve searched for different ways to cash in on the big events and make the most of other busy spots that may get overlooked. Scoop up the riders that the others never see.

March winds bring hints of Spring and New York starts to bloom. As the days get longer and the mercury rises, so the crowds begin to thicken. Drivers in the know can start the season with a bang. Read on to see New York Uber Hotspots for the month of March.

Event: Exotic flower festival.

Where: New York Botanical Gardens, 2900 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, NY 10458 – 5126.

When: Feb 15th to April 15th.

Times: 10.00am to 6.00pm daily.

The 18th New York Orchid Show began in February, but it’s in March when the crowds begin to surge. Thousands of rare, exotic blooms fill the historic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at the NY Botanical Gardens. Thousands of Orchid experts and lovers come from around the world to enjoy this fragrant extravaganza.

Insider’s scoop: Cocktails and razzle-dazzle join the flowers on special Orchid Evenings. For five nights in March, flower fans also party at the show. 7.00 – 10.00pm, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th. Be there to take them home when they start to wilt.

Event: Art Fair. Where: Piers 90 – 94 , West 50th – West 54th Streets and Westside Hwy.

When: 5th to 8th March.

Times: 5/6th: 12.00pm – 8.00pm. 7th: 12.00pm – 7.00pm. 8th: 12.00pm – 6.00pm.

Now in its 25th year, The Armory Show is an art buyers’ highlight. Collectors of 20th and 21st Century art stream to Piers 90-94 to snap up paintings, prints, sculptures and more. Many visitors are from out of town and unfamiliar with NY transport. A local driver to get them from A to B will be a welcome sight.

Insider’s scoop: The Armory Show kicks off with an invitation-only VIP preview on 4th March. Expect those in the know to attend from 10.00am ‘til 6.00pm.

Event: Indian festival of colors.

Where: Stage 48. 605, West 48th Street.

When: 7th, 14th and 21st March.

Times: Noon to 7.00pm.

Holi is the most colorful festival in India by far. Celebrated with wild dancing, big music and a drenching of brightly colored powder, it’s a blast to the senses. Holi comes to NY at Stage 48. Over three days, thousands of revellers enjoy an afternoon and evening of rainbow colored fun.

Insider’s scoop: Have a tarp or spare blanket handy to cover your seats. Many of the party-goers will be covered in powdered dye.

Event: International conference on status of women.

Where: United Nations World HQ, 46th St & 1st Ave.

When:  March 9th to 20th.

Times: 9.00am ‘til evening daily.

Organised by UN Women, CSW64 is the world’s biggest women’s conference. In 2020, thousands of UN and NGO delegates from 45 countries, their aides and members of the global media will descend on New York. Expect high Uber demand all day, as visitors shuttle from hotels to the UN and then on to parties in the evening.

Insider’s scoop: There are daily side events away from the UN. Many happen at Church Center, corner of 44th Street and First Avenue, across from the UN Secretariat building. (See Map). Times vary.
