Here’s what our winner had to say when Sid from the INSHUR team met up with him in the London Green Light Hub:
How did you hear about the 6-month free fuel giveaway?
“I was shopping around for insurance on Instagram and came across the details on INSHUR’s Instagram page.”
What caught your interest?
“Honestly, I thought it was too good to be true! You see so many adverts online today.”
So, what made you decide to enter?
“It got me curious. Plus, it was only an email address and a name required to enter so I thought, why not!”
Now that you have won, how do you feel?
“I never win these things so it’s an amazing feeling. Fuel is, of course, important to what we do so this is a massive help.”

What’s your favourite thing about being a professional driver?
“Helping others. It sounds obvious but, each trip is getting someone where they need to be and it feels good to help them with that. It also allows me to work on my own schedule so I have time for fishing and playing cricket when I can.”
Where do you usually work? Any fellow drivers you want to give a shout-out to?
“Based in Central London. I’ll give a shout-out to you Sid! Thanks for accommodating me.”
In your opinion, what does the future of private hire driving look like?
“Honestly, it is getting harder day-to-day. There are lots of rules and regulations changing things for us drivers, it can be hard to keep up. But, all jobs have their challenges and my main expense is now covered for 6-months thanks to you!”
One last question. We’re here in the London Green Light Hub where new drivers come to start their private hire journey with Uber. What advice would you give a new driver?
“I’ve been driving for 7 years and was a bus driver for 7 and a half years before that! You will get some tricky customers, lots of other road users beeping at you, and other stuff like that. But, if you’re kind and helpful to each passenger you’ll meet some great people. Oh, and follow the highway code!”
