What is Yodel courier insurance, and do I need it?
Picked up your first route with Yodel? Before you load up your first parcels, there's one thing you need to have in place: the right insurance.
Standard car or van insurance does not cover you for delivery work. Under the Road Traffic Act 1988, as soon as you're carrying goods for payment, you're legally required to have hire and reward insurance. Without it, you're uninsured on the road, and that can mean fines, points on your licence, and even your vehicle being seized.
Yodel also requires proof of valid hire and reward insurance before you can work as a self-employed courier on the network. It's a legal requirement, not just a box-ticking exercise.
INSHUR's courier insurance is designed for self-employed delivery drivers exactly like you, quick to set up, easy to manage, and flexible enough to fit around the way you work.
