I also deliver parcels. Will I need extra coverage?

Yes. Standard fast food delivery insurance covers food delivery only. If you also deliver parcels or courier goods, you can add courier and parcel delivery cover as an optional add-on during the quote process.

I'm under 23 years of age. Can you cover me?

Unfortunately not. INSHUR's fast food delivery insurance requires drivers and riders to be aged 23 or over.

Which food delivery platforms do you cover?

INSHUR covers drivers and riders working for major food delivery platforms including Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat, Stuart, and Whoosh, as well as many others. Policies are multi-platform compatible.

Can I deliver for Uber Eats without insurance?

No. Hire and Reward insurance is a legal requirement for anyone using their vehicle to deliver food for payment. Standard social, domestic, and pleasure (SD&P) or commuting cover is not sufficient. You must hold a valid Hire and Reward policy to deliver legally.

Can I use my own vehicle to deliver fast food?

Yes. INSHUR covers your own car, van, scooter, moped, or motorcycle for food delivery, subject to minimum vehicle age and type requirements.

What is Pay As You Go Food Delivery Insurance?

It's an automated pay-as-you-go hire and reward policy designed for people who deliver food. The policy syncs with the Deliveroo and Uber Eats food delivery apps and charges you for the exact minutes you spend delivering.

Think of it as top-up insurance for food delivery. Your own motor policy still covers your social driving, known as social, domestic, and pleasure use (SD&P). INSHUR then adds the hire and reward cover for the minutes you spend delivering. Remember, you'll need a valid SD&P policy in place alongside it.

You're covered from the moment you accept an order on your delivery app until it's handed over to the customer.

Your policy syncs with your Uber Eats or Deliveroo app, and each day it deducts your delivery minutes from your wallet balance.

When your balance runs low, we'll automatically top it up so you're always covered for work. You can also add funds manually whenever you like.

How Much Does Pay As You Go Food Delivery Insurance Cost?

Get a quote online in minutes. Your quote will give you a per-hour rate, but you're charged by the minute. You only pay for the minutes you're actively driving, and there's no minimum charge for shorter shifts.

If you edit your vehicle or change your address, a £5 fee applies for the change (a midterm adjustment, or MTA). We charge it separately, so it doesn't come out of your wallet.

Once you set up your policy and connect your delivery apps, you're covered from the moment you accept an order until you hand it over. That includes driving to the restaurant, waiting for the food, and taking it to the customer.

When does the clock start and stop?

It starts when you accept an order, not when you log in or set off. It stops when you hand the order to the customer.

Does waiting at the restaurant count?

Yes. Once you've accepted an order, you're covered by us, so the clock keeps running while you wait for the food.
Not by INSHUR. When you're logged out, or logged in without an accepted order, your own personal (social, domestic, and pleasure) insurance covers you. You don't pay us anything for that time.
No. You're charged once for that time, from when you accepted the first order to when you drop off the last one.
Your delivery platform tells us the times you accepted and completed each order. You can see your hourly rate and every charge, to the minute, on your INSHUR dashboard.
Yes. This is a top-up cover that only covers you whilst you are delivering food using the connected apps (Deliveroo or Uber Eats), so you need a valid SD&P policy in place for your social driving.
You top up your wallet when you buy your policy. We deduct the minutes you drive from your balance every day. When your balance runs low, it tops up automatically. You can also choose to add funds to your wallet whenever you like.
