  • / STEPS

/ Step 1: Set up your company

When you are ready to get started with setting up your company, the Arizona State Government provides a lot of useful information on the ‘Business One Stop’ homepage.

/ Step 2: Submit your livery Licence application

/ Step 3: Complete a criminal background check

When operating as a licensed livery driver you need to have available for inspection by the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division written evidence of your criminal background checks. Your criminal background checks need to be completed before you start operating as a licensed livery driver but don’t need to be included in your livery license application.

Information you are likely to need to complete the background check:

Arizona has a number of approved background check providers that are accepted for the Vehicle for Hire permit application process but a good place to start is the Arizona Department of Public Safety

/ Step 4: Purchase commercial insurance

To operate as a licensed livery driver you need to have valid commercial auto insurance. Your insurance will need to have a commercial motor vehicle liability coverage of at least  $250,000 and commercial uninsured motorist coverage of at least $250,000.

As a licensed livery driver you need to carry proof of insurance in your vehicle at all times while providing transportation services.

INSHUR provides commercial auto insurance that meets all Arizona state regulations for Uber licensed livery drivers.

    1. You can quote and buy your policy here
    2. You will need the following information to complete your quote:
      1. Personal contact details (phone number, address, email address).
      2. Your corporation name and Federal Employer ID Number.
      3. Drivers license number.
      4. VIN number of the vehicle you want to insure.

Once you have purchased your commercial auto insurance you need to print your Certificate of Insurance and carry it in your vehicle at all times while providing transportation services.
