INSHUR INC. Privacy policy

Last Updated: August 26, 2026 (Version 2.0)

INSHUR Inc. (“INSHUR”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to maintaining the trust and privacy of our insurance customers. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, process, disclose, and secure your personal data when you use our website (inshur.com), access our mobile applications, request an insurance quote, or interact with our digital insurance management portals (collectively, the “Services”).

As a licensed retail producer and Managing General Agent (MGA), our data protection operations align with the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and related state-level insurance privacy mandates.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, references, describes, or is reasonably capable of being associated with a specific consumer or household ("Personal Information"). We may collect and maintain the following categories of data:

  • Identifiers: Full name, business name, physical address, mailing address, email address, contact numbers, and driver’s license number.
  • Statutory Personal Records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80): Financial account numbers, credit or debit card info, digital signature files, and insurance policy numbers.
  • Commercial Profile Data: Vehicle specifications, identification numbers (VINs), driving records (MVRs), claims histories, past quotes, and risk assessment tiers.
  • Internet and Network Activity: IP address, device operating systems, mobile app telemetry, and direct interaction metrics on our portals.
  • Professional, Employment, and Telematics Data: Employment history, commercial platform activity (e.g., rideshare driver accounts, logs, or platform ratings), and real-time or historical GPS/telematics data linked to your risk or policy tracking.

2. Sources of Personal Information

We gather Personal Information through several primary channels:

  • Directly From Your Input: Application entries, digital uploads, or phone/chat consultations.
  • Automated Technologies: Cookies, tracking pixels, and secure system logs embedded in our apps.
  • Third-Party Integrations: Commercial rideshare/delivery platforms, consumer credit bureaus, motor vehicle networks, and comprehensive claims data networks.
  • Corporate Affiliates and Program Transfers: We receive personal information, transactional history, and risk metrics from our corporate affiliates under common ownership and control of our mutual parent holding company, including American Business Insurance Services, Inc. ("ABI").

3. How We Use the Information We Collect

We leverage Personal Information to manage your insurance journey and support our business operations, including:

  • Underwriting, pricing, and binding new or renewing insurance coverages.
  • Managing policy renewals, processing premium payments, and arranging premium financing terms.
  • Servicing claims, evaluating policy modifications, and routing cancellation notices.
  • Detecting, validating, and defending against insurance fraud or system vulnerabilities.
  • Fulfilling reporting obligations to our fronting carriers, reinsurers, and state insurance regulators.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell consumer personal information or share it with non-affiliated third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose relevant data to designated recipients solely to perform necessary operational and servicing business purposes:

  • Carriers & Reinsurance Markets: To establish and back your coverage agreements.
  • Service Providers: Core system vendors handling database hosting, secure payment clearing, text or email distributions, and telematics processing under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Compliance Authorities: In response to court orders, department subpoenas, or standard market conduct examinations by state Departments of Insurance (DOI).
4.1 Intake and Processing of Transferred Books of Business & Affiliate Transfers

To streamline operations, ensure policy continuity, and reorganize specific commercial auto programs across our enterprise group, INSHUR Inc. explicitly accepts the transfer of insurance expirations, customer profiles, driving records, and historic policy application datasets from our affiliate, American Business Insurance Services, Inc. ("ABI") (including but not limited to the Period X, Period Zero, and US Rides insurance frameworks).

Where such program assignments or affiliate transfers occur, INSHUR Inc. assumes data processing responsibilities as the succeeding broker of record. These transfers are executed as necessary operational business disclosures to facilitate seamless, non-disruptive renewal solicitations, continuous claims management, and uninterrupted customer service. All imported datasets are integrated into our secure platform and are handled under the identical protections, rights, and strict confidentiality limitations specified throughout this Policy.

Data transferred from affiliates for operational renewal and administrative servicing is processed under standard business exceptions and does not constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under state privacy laws or GLBA affiliate sharing restrictions.

5. Privacy Rights by Jurisdiction

5.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you reside in California, you hold distinct rights regarding your Personal Information, subject to regulatory carve-outs (such as exemptions for financial and underwriting files explicitly covered under the federal GLBA or state insurance privacy codes):

  • Right to Access and Portability: You may request access to the specific pieces of Personal Information we have gathered and shared about you over the preceding 12 months.
  • Right to Rectification: You may demand that we amend or correct inaccurate personal files.
  • Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal profiles, subject to our overriding legal obligation to retain consumer records for regulatory tracking, financial audits, and multi-year policy tracking.
  • Right to Limit Sensitive Data Use: You may restrict our usage of sensitive identifiers (like SSNs or precise location tracking) if used for purposes outside of core insurance provisioning.
5.2 State Privacy Rights, Non-Renewal, & FCRA Opt-Out Notice

Consumers in jurisdictions implementing omnibus privacy regulations have corresponding mechanisms to query, challenge, or object to data processing for secondary, cross-contextual marketing uses.

Affiliate Transfer & Non-Renewal Requests: Transferred affiliate datasets processed for core policy administration, risk evaluation, and automatic renewals do not require inline opt-out mechanisms under applicable servicing exceptions. However, if you do not wish to transition to INSHUR or receive renewal quotes generated via affiliate data transfers, you may elect to opt out of policy continuation by contacting Customer Support prior to your policy expiration date to request policy non-renewal or record deletion (where permitted by legal record retention requirements).

FCRA Notice: To the extent consumer credit scoring metrics or credit report details are shared between affiliates for risk evaluation or non-servicing purposes, consumers retain rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to opt out of such affiliate sharing by submitting a written request to our Privacy Office.

6. Information Security and Long-Term Retention

We deploy layered technical, physical, and operational barriers (including advanced encryption protocols and restricted access controls) to guard your data against unauthorized interception, breach, or disclosure.
