MoMA PS1 Warm-Up Series

MoMA PS1 Warm-Up has been jamming the courtyard at the Long Island City Museum for over 20 years. Starting at noon and running ‘til late, it attracts hordes of music buffs, dancers and sun lovers. Top line bands and DJs grace the stage to provide a non-stop buffet of sound and music. Expect long lines for rides as the sun and fun wind down.

Bastille Day Celebrations

Event: Music concerts, parades, street fairs. Where: 60th Street between Lexington and Fifth Avenue.
When: Sunday July 15th .
Times: All day long. Morning ‘til night.

Bastille Day in NYC gives city dwellers a taste of France. Celebrating French National Day in the big city means all-day fun and fetes scattered far and wide. Core of the action can be found in midtown, with crowds out to sample performance, parades, food and music. Families and revellers alike will be weary by the time it’s over. Ensure you’re there to get them back to their Maison.

Midsummer Night Swing

Event: Outdoor Music and Dance Festival.
Where: Damrosch Park, Lincoln Center, 62nd Street.
When: June 25th to July 13th
Times: 6.00pm until midnight.

Midsummer Night Swing is a three weeks dance fete that draws huge crowds to the dance floors for salsa, disco, ballroom, swing and every other dance genre. The music is non-stop, and so’s the exertion. Big opportunities on tap to pick up dancers whose tired legs will never get them home.

Shakespeare in the Park

Event: Al-Fresco stage drama.
Where: Delacorte Theater, Central Park.
When: Tuesday through Sunday, July 16th to August 11th.
Times: Curtains rise at 8.00pm for a typical 3 hours show.

Yeah, it’s the bard and it’s outdoors. A long running tradition of classic theatre under the stars that began in May gets into high gear when the weather gets hot. High drama on stage attracts full house crowds. As the shows end, demand for transport will be huge. Get your act together play a major role.
