Where Are The Riders In The UK? August 2020

Where Are The Riders In The UK? August 2020

At INSHUR we look for ways to help Uber drivers make more money – revealing where the crowds are is one of them. But as many events have been cancelled this year due to COVID-19, identifying reliable rider pickup locations has become a bit of a guessing game for Private Hire drivers.

Since non-essential businesses were forced to close in March, our customers told us that they were mostly picking up from supermarkets, hospitals and schools. Now that lockdown restrictions are easing, Citymapper’s Mobility Index suggests that weekend peak social hours are increasing.

Socially-distanced activities and pop-up food and drink venues are now established in many city centres. Scroll down to find out where the riders are likely to be this August.

The following information is correct at the time of writing on 6th August. But before you go, be sure to check the latest from official government sources: England, Scotland and Wales.

Airports

At the busiest they have been since March, airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Stansted are usually ideal places for Uber drivers to pick up passengers and get tips. Click here for all you need to know on UK airports during COVID-19.
