Who do you insure?

We cover private hire drivers in the Netherlands who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Aged 23-65
  • Have held a full Dutch driving licence for 3+ years
  • Have Uber driver login credentials
  • Car is owned, rented or leased
  • Car is less than 10 years old
  • Car has up to 7 passenger seats
  • Have a valid private hire licence
  • Have been a Dutch resident for 1+ years
  • No other commercial usage is required

We offer flexible, short term cover that supports the way you work. You can buy a 30-day policy at a competitive rate, with discounts for Uber Pro drivers.

Our product is 100% digital, which means you don’t need to spend time calling your broker or going through paperwork. Everything is done via our easy-to-use website, saving you time and helping you get on the road faster.

How do I know INSHUR is a reputable organisation I can trust?

We may be new to the Netherlands but we’ve been helping private hire drivers like you since 2016, with customers in the UK and New York. How do I make a complaint?

We’ll do all we can to help and put things right if something has gone wrong. Getting a quote and buying a policy

How can I get a quote?

Simply click here, sign in with Uber and answer the questions. It only takes a matter of minutes and you will receive your quote instantly.

How far in advance can I get a quote?

  • If you’re a new customer, you can select a start date of anywhere up to two weeks in the future.
  • If you are renewing a policy, you can get a renewal quote 7 days before your current policy comes to an end.

Can you match or beat my quote from another insurer?

All of our quotes are calculated individually based on a large number of factors to maintain fairness and competitiveness. Therefore, quotes cannot be negotiated and are only given via our website.

How do I get my insurance documents?

Your documents will be sent to you by email immediately after you pay for your policy.

Policy changes and renewals

Can I renew my policy on the website?

Yes, you do not need to call us to renew your policy. Simply click here to renew your policy. At the moment, you can pay for your policy by credit card. We’ll be adding new payment methods including iDEAL soon.

I got a new car, how can I update my insurance policy?

You can do this at any time via our website.

Our insurance coverage

Will I be covered for social use?

Yes. With INSHUR, you’re automatically covered to use your vehicle for social, domestic and pleasure use too.

Why do you only insure Uber drivers?

We work closely with Uber in the Netherlands to bring you the best possible product that’s suited to your needs. However, we do cover all private hire drivers on any platform, you just need an Uber driver login to sign in and get a quote.

Payments

How do I get the Uber Pro discount?

If you are an Uber Pro driver, your discount will have been automatically applied to your quote. If you only drive with Uber, and no other platforms, you can opt to get a higher discount by opting to only drive professionally with Uber. Click here to see the full details on our Uber Pro discount.

What are the payment options?

All of our policies are paid for in full upfront before your cover starts.

How do I pay?

You purchase your policy via our website through our secure payment system.

Accidents and claims

I’ve had an accident, what should I do?

If you have had an accident please call us immediately on (+31) 020 241 5744. We are here to help you get back on the road.
